5mm Cuttlefish Cast Sterling Silver Gents Wedding Band
Individually hand cast in the workshop these cuttlefish patterned rings are each truly unique.
The rings are formed by hollowing out a pair of soft cuttlefish bones (found washed up on beaches throughout the UK) with a handmade, master pattern, ring. I then wire the two halves of the cuttlefish mould together and pour molten metal into the cavity. This forms a one off impression of the inside of the cuttlefish mould, including the distinctive cuttlefish bone texture. The high pouring temperature of the metal burns the cuttlefish bone, destroying the mould as it goes, so each mould can only be used once.
Once cool I remove and clean up the cast ring and polish the interior for a comfortable fit. The final result is a beautiful, natural cuttlefish texture on the outside of your ring.
This listing is for a 5mm court shaped band, in silver, but should you prefer something different please get in touch to discuss a commission.
Caring for your Jewellery:
Silver jewellery can withstand everyday wear and can be worn when washing, overnight or while swimming. Should tarnish occur it is recommended that you clean your jewellery with a commercial silver cloth or silver foam, available in most supermarkets.
Sustainability:

Handmade and hallmarked in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter.

Finding Your Ring Size
First wrap a piece of string, measuring tape or a strip of paper around the base of your finger. Mark where the end of the string meets the string wrapped around the finger.
It might be easier if you get someone to help you. Using a ruler measure the length of the string from the starting point to the end mark in millimetres.
Check the measurement against our chart to find your ring size.
The best time of day to measure your fingers is at the end of the day.
