Personalised Octagon birthstone / gemstone stacking ring Although this gemstone might look more rectangular than octagonal, the corners are actually little sides in themselves. This stone is 6 x 4mm and is set in fine silver on a handmade sterling silver band.

The stone is faceted meaning it is flat(ish) on top with a point at the back (in contrast to the flat back of the cabochon stone). This means that the setting for this kind of stone is a little higher than for the cabochon style - so the silver covers more at the side.

The idea behind the birthstone stacking ring sets is to create a stacking set of rings holding the birthstone gems of the special people in your life. Choose the birthstones of your children; or maybe yourself and a loved one with my stacking 9ct gold stacking heart ring in between. I love seeing all the different combinations of stones together. Ring stacks are my all time favourite thing to make.

If you are planning a stack of three rings, an octagon, being quite a long shape is great as the middle ring, with maybe a square, round or trillion birthstone ring on either side. The octagon would then sit to one side, with the other 2 more compact shapes sitting one on top of each other. (see pics).

This ring is perfect for stacking with my other birthstone stacking rings as described above, but also looks absolutely lovely on its own.

Please note this ring will be made to order, so please allow 10 days before despatch.

Your band will be made to your requested size, but please note if you buy three or more rings to stack you should choose a size 1/2 to one full size bigger to ensure a correct fit.

It's important to get the size correct as unfortunately I am unable to reduce the ring size. But if needs be, I can stretch the ring size slightly by 1/2 or 1 full size.

To make them even more personal I can hand stamp a name or date into your rings. There's some more information about stamping on my blog.

I can fit approx 20 characters (including spaces) onto the ring, and there is a £7 additional charge, which will be added automatically once you fill in the text box.

Finding Your Ring Size

First wrap a piece of string, measuring tape or a strip of paper around the base of your finger. Mark where the end of the string meets the string wrapped around the finger.

It might be easier if you get someone to help you. Using a ruler measure the length of the string from the starting point to the end mark in millimetres.

Check the measurement against our chart to find your ring size.

The best time of day to measure your fingers is at the end of the day.
